What do you think librarians do? What do you think would be really cool if libraians started doing it? What do you think the library of the future might look like?

Librarians regulate the library, help people find books or do research, check out or in books and sort books. Liberians are the ones who regulate the library -arian is the expert of something. I don't really have any ideas for what would be cool if librarians did a certain thing. Believe that they are already doing their job, thus I don’t expect something extraordinary. In the future, I believe the library will have advanced technology and supplies to contribute to the educational and entertainment world and there will be elevators and escalators. There could be study-halls and places around the library where people can walk—they can fund the libraries when they pay a little fee to get into the place to exercise. It might even look like a museum filled with books and other research like documentaries, newspapers, and photographs like an actual museum, except there won’t be any display cases, nothing will be fragile, there’ll be no tours around, and libraries can be the interest of schools instead of computers because of how nice and advanced it is. I’m a traditional paper book girl—even though I love trees A LOT—because what if there wasn’t all of this stuff like Ipad? Besides, I like feeling the pages and reading them without killing my eyes. But right now, I still like the library and even if it loses popularity completely when if comes to certain things, I’ll still be there. Good job librarians and librarians.
ReplyDeleteI meant 'libraries' on the last word--sorry :)
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for sharing. Even if you aren't sure what would be a cool thing for a librarian to do you've certainly got ideas for where libraries may be headed and I expect that work will be done by librarians. Amazon now sells more electronic books for their Kindle than they sell paper books to everyone else. I don't have a Kindle or a Nook but most of those people I know who do, now swear by them and say they'd never want to go back to heavy, think stack of books when you can hundreds of books at your finger tips on the book devices. The book devices don't read the same as Ipads or computer screens. Academia's needs for electronic books are different than reading a novel or anime/illustrated works. Anyway, we'll see what the future brings.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the program.
